Team K is George, Kathy, Paris & Harry on their travels

Week 2 – Harry’s Page

WILPENA POUND
This week we went to Wilpena Pound and did the sickest thing flying in a scenic flight in a mini plane, my mum and sister went first then my dad and I went second when we came down I felt a little nauseous.
OODNADATTA TRACK
The next day we were suppose to get to Coober Pedy but we were delayed  because our right rear tire blew and our left rear was leaking so we quickly patched up our left rear then got to work on our right tire.  We fixed it and luckily there was a town ten kilometres away this was on the Oodnadatta track, which is in the middle of nowhere! The town was called Williams creek.
WILLIAMS CREEK
While the B.E.A.R was getting fixed the family and I went to the bar and stayed up  till 10.00 pm then went to bed not in the B.E.A.R.  but in a bed which was really comfy.
COOBER PEDY
We left Williams Creek leaving comfort and lemonade, on the road again and it wasn’t far to Coober pedy the biggest opal town we stayed for 1 night then left but we did a lot of mining tours.  First we went through the  old timers mine then we did another mining tour of modern under ground homes.
DALHOUSIE SPRINGS
It was a long drive, we faced alot of mud and bumps.  We saw plenty of cows and we got there by 4pm, we were there all alone and we were okay until my sister and I saw a “how to be dingo safe” sign, that totally freaked us out for the rest of the night.  In the morning we swam in the springs and it was warm and really mossy at the bottom.
ULURU
I was happy to leave Dalhousie and go to Uluru for the first time.  It was really hot and we stayed there for 4 days, we toured the rock and the olgas they are really cool. It was really sad to leave and we had a great time going to the Olgas and walking the 2 ks around Uluru.  We went to the Sounds of Silence which is really nice, we saw heaps of goanna tracks, at the buffet  they had all different types of food crocodile, emu, and kangaroo but I didn’t have any of those.
KINGS CANYON
When we got to Kings Canyon it was tiring and we stopped at a bar and had lemonade and my parents had a beer.  We had chips and played pool on the pool table and the boys versed the girls and the boys won.  That meant that the girls had to do the dishes in the night and morning…The rim walk was both tough and awesome, and I loved going for a swim in the gorge.
